Rapids re-sign Cummings

The Colorado Rapids have taken another step to keep their core players together for the foreseeable future. The Rapids re-signed striker Omar Cummings to a multi-year contract on Friday, extending the Jamaican forward's stay in Colorado. In his sixth season with the Rapids, Cummings has scored 36 goals and assisted on 26 others. Cummings, who drew interest from Aston Villa last winter, is currently out with an injured ankle but has three goals and an assist in 10 games this season.
